events

The RCNA Niagara has a long history of fundraising for various causes that are important to the local community and the Association. The following are the current events that happen on a regular basis, however discussions are ongoing on new ways to engage the community, grow membership and share our glorious Naval history. This page is still under construction, we aim to share events from other partner organizations here as well in the near future.

BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC

This annual signature event dedicated to honouring the ships and lives lost and bravery of the men and women who fought in the Battle of the Atlantic. Navy Week is celebrated this year during the week of April 28 to May 5. The service is held at 1 p.m. in the City of Port Colborne, corner of Princess and West St (Anchor across from Smoking Buddha). More information on this posted on the right hand side bar. Read 10 Facts about the Battle of the Atlantic by clicking here.

COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVES

RCNA members donate food and monetary contributions at meetings to support the local food banks across the Niagara Region. The Association will try to support five sites in various municipalities this year.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

The week leading up to Remembrance Day is always busy for the Association members as we try to attend as many services as we can. In 2021, we attended the Port Colborne service at H.H. Knoll park for the first time and held a flag raising at the Military Museum. Please see our News Feed on the home page for more details and photos from the day.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON AT BETTY'S RESTAURANT

If you have been to Betty's Restaurant then you know how great the food is! Our members get together in December before the holidays to wrap up the year, appreciate our time together and recap our success. Everyone is welcome, simply contact us at least one week before to allow us to RSVP the guest list to the restaurant a week before.
